Tahitian Pearl

It is common-place for a pearl to take on the lustre and the colour of the mother-of-pearl that makes it. The Black-Lipped Pearl Oyster (Pictadamargaritifera), as the name implies is darkish and the pearls it produces are therefore dark grey, dark blue and peacock green.
